Software created in Silicon Valley is crucial to the new intelligence driven auto industry which is being nurtured in California. Other automotive companies recently opened in California include Toyota, Honda, Hyyndai, Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Benz and some suppliers.
Self driving cars, advanced green vehicles and automotive software are being developed in the state. California has vigorous environmental standards and subsidizes electric cars.This policy has supported the growth of companies such as Tesla and Faraday Future.
Ride services such as Uber and Lyft were created in California.
Some envision the future of the car industry in California to include the possibility of ordering driverless cars at will.
California has some of the best software engineers in the country making it possible for California to approach the Michigan auto industry in the future.
Jobs in the auto industry in California are increasing although they do not approach that of Michigan. The number of auto related jobs in California has risen 26% since 2011. This is still still a small a small percentage compared to the state’s total economy.
Three hundred twenty six thousand workers are currently employed in Michigan’s auto industry, making it by far the leader with a long line of supply chain manufacturing industries connected to the major auto industry.
The auto industry in California, however, is growing.. The state has access to venture capital and has the advantage of being the seat of technology coming out of Silicon Valley.
Californians are known for their cutting edge acceptance of style and new products. This is one of the reasons that it is thought that intelligent driven vehicles might do well in the state.
