Hit-and-run Driver Strikes Vehicle Near Kerman in Fresno County, Causing Injuries

FRESNO COUNTY, CA (November 15, 2019) – On Thursday night in Fresno County, at least one person was injured by a hit-and-run driver. The November 14 incident occurred near Kerman and to the north of it, near the intersection of Shields and Howard.

The time was roughly 7:30 p.m.

Reports say a vehicle, which had been traveling on Howard and heading south, did not stop at the stop sign. The vehicle collided with another vehicle. Neither of the vehicles has been described.

The force of the crash threw a person, who had been traveling as a passenger in the vehicle that was struck, out of the vehicle.

According to reports, the victim suffered injuries that were described as major. The types of injuries the victim suffered have not been described. The current condition of the victim is not known.

The identity of the victim, including the person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported. The identity of the driver of the vehicle in which the victim had been traveling has also not been reported. It is not known if the driver was hurt, and if anyone else had been inside the vehicle with the victim.

Following the crash, three people who had been in the vehicle that struck the other vehicle fled on foot. Officers located the people in a field close to the incident site.

The suspected hit-and-run driver was identified only as a man 20 years old, and a resident of Kerman. His name has not been reported.

The identities of the other occupants of the vehicle in which the suspect driver had been traveling have not been reported. It is not known if anyone in that vehicle was injured.

Investigators are continuing their work to gather information, details, and evidence regarding the incident.
