Wrong-way Driver Crashes into Six Vehicles; Two Die on Highway 180 Near Fresno
FRESNO, CA (February 5, 2019) – Two people were killed in an accident involving a person who was driving the wrong way on Highway 180 near Fresno late Monday afternoon. The February 4 accident occurred in the highway’s westbound lanes, close to McCall Avenue and east of Fresno.
The time was roughly 5:00 p.m.
According to Victor Taylor, who is a spokesperson with the California Highway Patrol, a driver—identified as a man—was traveling east in the lanes that head west in a Chevrolet Silverado. Taylor said that the man collided with five other vehicles.
The man driving the Chevrolet then collided head-on with a Dodge Ram. The person who was driving the Dodge—identified as a man—was killed from the crash’s impact. The identity of the man who was driving the Dodge, including his name, age, and city of residence, has not yet been reported.
