Head-on Crash on Minnewawa Avenue in Fresno Injures Five People
FRESNO, CA (July 18, 2019) – On Wednesday night, two vehicles collided head on in Fresno, injuring five people. The July 17 incident occurred on Minnewawa Avenue close to Lincoln Avenue, near Easton and to the west of Highway 99.
Reports say a vehicle, described as a Subaru, had been heading northbound on Minnewawa Avenue. The Subaru traveled into the lane of opposing traffic, and collided head on with another vehicle, described as a Honda.
Two of the occupants of the Honda, identified only as women, suffered severe injuries. Responders transported them to Community Medical Center. Their current condition is not known.
The identities of the two women, including their names, ages, and cities of residence, have not been reported. It is not known from reports who had been driving, and who had been a passenger.
A third woman who had been traveling in the Honda was also injured. The types of injuries she suffered, and her current condition are not known. Her identity has not been reported.
Two men had been traveling in the Subaru. According to reports, the men were also injured. The types of injuries they suffered, and their current condition, have not been reported.
The identities of the men have also not been reported, and it is not known who the driver and the passenger were. Responders took all of the victims to the hospital.
Investigators are working to understand the circumstances that led to the crash.
