FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA (April 1, 2019) – A boy was killed in a collision involving five vehicles on the 405 Freeway in Fountain Valley on Saturday night. The March 30 accident occurred in the freeway’s northbound lanes, close to Euclid Street.

The time was roughly a bit before 11:00 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.

Reports say that a vehicle—described as a pickup truck—crashed into the rear of a minivan in the HOV lane. The minivan was disabled, according to reports, prior to the crash. It is not known from reports why the minivan was disabled prior to being hit by the pickup.

Five people—members of one family—had been in the minivan at the time of the collision. A second collision occurred after the first crash, involving a silver Toyota Tacoma that struck the back of a black Tacoma. According to the California Highway Patrol, four people suffered minor injuries in that crash.
