FONTANA, CA (November 16, 2018) – A pedestrian was struck and critically injured by a car in Fontana in the morning on Thursday. The November 15 accident occurred on Elm Avenue.
According to reports, the victim—identified as a 20-year-old resident of Bloomington—had been walking across the road. The victim was not in a crosswalk where he was walking, according to the Fontana Police Department.
A driver was traveling north in a Toyota Camry on Elm Avenue. The driver—identified as a resident of Rancho Cucamonga, 25 years old—did not see the pedestrian walking in the road, reports say.
The car hit the pedestrian. The victim suffered major trauma to the head. Responders took the victim to the hospital. His condition was described as critical.
According to police, the person who had been driving the car cooperated with the investigation. The names of the victim and the driver have not yet been reported. It has not been reported if the driver suffered any injuries.
