Father Fatally Injures his Baby in an Accidental Shooting
Posted on March 19, 2013 Written By: iadminlaw
A father fatally shot his 10-month-old baby inside a motel room in Tennessee on Friday. The motel room was located in Nashville to be specific.
Adam Bass died immediately from a chest wound. Police were too late to save the child, even though they had been alerted to the sound of gun shots just mere moments before they actually arrived at the scene of the crime.
Larry Bass, 30-years-old, was holding a semi-automatic pistol when police officers arrived. The gun had accidentally fired a round at the baby. Apparently, his wife, Jacqueline, a 28-year-old woman, and their other two children were in the room during the incident. No one else was hurt in the accidental shooting that they witnessed.
Local media has proclaimed that the family is from Texas and was staying at the motel near the airport due to the fact that Larry Bass was working construction in the area for an auditorium in the city.
The parents are not being indicated in the shooting as it is being ruled an accident. The baby would have turned 1 on May 1st.
The family is in serious mourning over this tragedy. They have a spokesman who talks on their behalf.
This unspeakably sad incident may have been prevented with better gun safety laws. This is a huge topic of discussion nowadays and it is obviously important to take care of this matter so that we can stop these incidents.
