Woman And Another Victim Killed in Lamborghini Crash in Encino
ENCINO, CA (May 16, 2019) – A collision involving a Lamborghini and an SUV Wednesday night in Encino killed Luiza Karakhanyan and one other victim. The May 15 incident occurred where Hayvenhurst Avenue and Burbank Boulevard intersect.
The time was roughly before 8:00 p.m., according to Mike Lopez. Lopez is an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department.
Reports say the Lamborghini had been heading east on Burbank Boulevard at a high rate of speed—over 100 miles per hour—and it collided with an SUV. The Lamborghini then hit a tree and erupted in flames. The force of the crash split the vehicle in two.
According to officials, one person died in the car, and the other person was thrown from the it. Karakhanyan had been a passenger. She was 19 years old. The driver, a man 25 years old, has not been identified by name. Both victims died at the accident site.
The person who had been driving the SUV—identified only as a man—suffered injuries that were described as minor. His name, age, and city of residence have not been reported. It is not known if anyone else had been traveling with him at the time of the incident.
