Two-vehicle Collision on I-5 in Encinitas Involving Suspected DUI Driver Kills One person
ENCINITAS, CA (March 8, 2019) – A two-vehicle collision early in the morning on Friday on I-5 in Encinitas killed one person. The March 8 accident occurred on the northbound side of the freeway, close to Manchester Avenue.
The time was roughly 1:15 a.m.
Reports say that two vehicles—described as a Nissan Frontier pickup truck and a Hyundai Accent sedan—collided. Respondents took the person who had been driving the Hyundai—identified as a man—to the hospital. The victim was pronounced deceased. The man’s name, age, and city of residence have not been reported.
The person who had been driving the pickup truck was arrested by officers on suspicion of DUI. The identity of the pickup truck driver—including the person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence—have not been reported.
