RIVERSIDE, CA (March 17, 2022) – On Tuesday afternoon in Riverside, a car struck three pedestrians–a woman and two children–killing two. Eligia Del Rosario Morales was later identified by her son as the woman who was killed.

The March 15 crash occurred in where Hayes Street and Roosevelt Street intersect.

The time was roughly 3:50 p.m.

Reports say the three people had been walking across the road. A vehicle–described as a Range Rover–which had been traveling on Hayes Street and heading west, made a turn to Roosevelt Street.

The Range Rover hit the three people.

Responders found Eligia Del Rosario Morales was killed in the crash. She was 58 years old.

A little boy was also killed in the crash.

Also struck was a little girl. She suffered injuries that were described as minor. Responders transported her to the hospital.

According to the son who identified Del Rosario Morales, the two children were siblings, aged two and five years old. The three people had been walking home from school when the crash happened, reports say.

The driver cooperated with investigators. The driver was identified only as 46 years old. The person’s name has not been reported.

Investigators are continuing their work.
