Elderly Woman Dies in Santa Ana Accident

An elderly woman from the Santa Ana area was killed in an accident on Tuesday. Also, four others were injured during the Tuesday morning crash that was a two-car collision in Orange County, according to officials.
The accident happened around 9 a.m. at the intersection of 1st and Sullivan streets in Santa Ana, according to police at the scene.
The driver of a blue or light green Nissan ran a red light at an intersection and collided with an Infiniti. Witnesses stated the details to the police and authorities that had gathered at the scene of the accident. This information was then relayed to the public via the media.
“Based on the witness statements, the female who is 22-years-old was eastbound and had a steady green so she was obviously traveling at the speed limit or plus, and the southbound vehicle, I don’t know what he was traveling, but he ran the steady red,” stated police agent, Anthony Bertagna.
The passenger in the front seat of the Nissan, a 78-year-old woman, was killed instantly, according to Santa Ana police.
The two backseat passengers were transported to local area hospitals for treatment. Their medical conditions have been listed as critical. No update has been given to the press regarding their treatment and conditions.
Two other victims were transported to local area hospitals as well, but their medical conditions are currently unknown. Either way, the passengers and victims of the accident were seriously injured. No one was treated at the scene of the accident.
