A man who was allegedly driving under the influence, struck a woman as she crossed in a crosswalk in Azusa on Thursday night and left her critically injured.
The driver, identified as a man in his 70s, was driving a white Ford Mustang at about 6:10 p.m.when he hit the woman, who was also about 70 years of age. She was crossing in the crosswalk at the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Dalton Avenue.
The man stayed behind and called emergency crews to the scene. He cooperated with the investigation and was arrested for driving under the influence.
