Pedestrian Struck and Killed on Jamacha Road in El Cajon
EL CAJON, CA (August 7, 2020) – Late at night on Wednesday in El Cajon, a pedestrian was struck and killed. The August 5 incident occurred on Jamacha Road, close to Main Street.
The time was roughly 11:35 p.m., according to Jeremiah Larson. Larson is a lieutenant with El Cajon Police.
The pedestrian–identified only as a man in his 80s–had been walking across the road, not within a crosswalk that is marked, according to Larson. A vehicle–which has not been described–that had been traveling north on Jamacha, hit the pedestrian.
Responders arrived and transported the victim to Sharp Memorial Hospital. He was pronounced deceased in the hospital. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle stayed at the incident site and cooperated with the investigation. The identity of the driver, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
