Motorcycle and Truck Collide on I-8 Onramp in El Cajon, Killing Rider

EL CAJON, CA (July 25, 2019) – A collision on Wednesday between a motorcycle and a truck on an onramp to I-8 in El Cajon killed the rider. The July 24 incident occurred at the onramp from Greenfield Drive to the eastbound side of I-8.

The time was a little before midday, the El Cajon Police Department said.

Reports say the two vehicles collided, but it is not known what led to the crash, and where each vehicle was struck.

Responders arrived and pronounced the rider deceased at the accident site. He was identified only as a man, roughly 40 to 50 years of age. His name and city of residence have not been reported.

The person who had been driving the truck involved in the incident remained on site and cooperated with the investigation. The person’s identity, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, have not been reported. It is not known if the driver was injured in the incident.

The type of truck involved has not been described. Investigators are working on the details and information to understand the sequence of events that led to the crash.
