Driver Suspected of Multiple Hit-and-run Crashes in Littlerock and Palmdale
LITTLEROCK and PALMDALE, CA (January 24, 2020) – A driver who is suspected of involvement in a deadly hit-and-run crash in Littlerock was arrested at a subsequent crash which occurred in Palmdale a short time after. The January 23 incident involved a driver who is suspected of driving under the influence (DUI).
Reports say the first incident occurred where SR-138 and 77 Street Esat are located. Officers from the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a crash involving a hit-and-run driver who is suspected of hitting a pedestrian.
The time was a little before 8:00 p.m.
According to reports, a pedestrian had been walking with a dog when a vehicle—described as a Lincoln—hit her. Reports say the person who had been driving the vehicle stopped and exited the vehicle, but then fled the incident site.
Responders arrived and pronounced the victim deceased. Her name has not been reported. She was identified as a resident of Littlerock, 65 years old.
Reports say the driver traveled roughly six miles and was involved in a subsequent collision, which occurred on East Avenue S in the 2600 block. Multiple vehicles were involved, the California Highway Patrol said.
None of the vehicles have been described. The manner in which the vehicles collided has also not been described.
The driver who was suspected of being involved in the first hit-and-run crash, as well as being involved in the second crash was identified as Alfredo Rodriguez, 62 years old. Rodriguez was arrested, reports say.
The identities of the other drivers involved in the second incident have not been reported. It is not known from reports if anyone was hurt in the second incident.
Investigators are continuing their work to gather details, information, and evidence regarding the two incidents.
