Fire Erupts After Driver Suspected of Fleeing from Police Smashes into Bakersfield House

BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 25, 2021) – A driver who is suspected of fleeing from police smashed into a house in Bakersfield on Saturday, setting the structure ablaze. The May 22 incident occurred on Brundage Lane, reports say.

People who witnessed the incident were reported to have said that the suspect driver was fleeing from police. The driver smashed into the home, according to witnesses, and ran from the crash site.

Firefighters from Kern County responded to the crash site, and worked to extinguish the raging fire. According to reports, the house was ablaze after the crash.

No details have been reported on the residents of the house, nor if anyone was inside when the crash and fire occurred. The identities of the homeowners have not been reported.

A description of the suspect driver has also not been reported. It is also not known why the driver was allegedly fleeing police pursuit.
