Crash Involving Hit-and-Run Driver on 57 Freeway in Diamond Bar Kills Woman
DIAMOND BAR, CA (October 25, 2018) – Early Thursday morning, a hit-and-run driver left the scene of a deadly collision in Diamond Bar.
The accident occurred on the road that connects the 57 Freeway northbound to the 60 Freeway eastbound. At roughly 12:20 a.m., a chain-reaction crash began, Sergeant Louis Borunda of California Highway Patrol said.
Two vehicles collided. As officers were traveling to the accident scene, they received reports that one of the victims may have been thrown out of a vehicle.
According to Borunda, officers found a victim—described as a woman 40 to 45 years of age—lying on the road. The victim died at the accident scene.
Investigators think the victim may have pulled her vehicle over after the first crash, and she was hit in a second accident. Borunda said it was possible that as the victim left her vehicle, a third vehicle struck her.
The third vehicle did not remain at the accident scene, so authorities believe it may be a hit and run.
Police ask that if anyone has information about the accidents, he or she should call 626-338-1164.
