Crash in South Whittier Sends One Vehicle into Yard of Nearby House
SOUTH WHITTIER, CA (October 5, 2018) – A crash in South Whittier early Friday morning sent one of the vehicles into the yard of a nearby house. The incident occurred close to where Carmenita Road and Florence Avenue intersect, on the border of South Whittier and Santa Fe Springs, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The time was roughly 1:30 a.m.
Reports say that one of the vehicles—described as a Ford Explorer—smashed through a lawn, missed a house, crashed through a nearby fence, and stopped in an alley.
Responders took the driver to a hospital.
The Ford Explorer ran a red light, and then hit a vehicle in the intersection, according to the person who was in the other vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle said in reports that the driver of the Ford Explorer came out of nowhere, traveling a high rate of speed.
Investigators are looking into the details of the crash.
