Vehicle Smashes into Apartment Building in Chula Vista, Injuring Boy
CHULA VISTA, CA (July 5, 2019) – On Tuesday morning, a vehicle smashed into an apartment building in Chula Vista, injuring a boy in his bed. The July 2 incident occurred on Woodlawn Avenue in the 500 block.
The time was roughly 8:14 a.m.
Reports say a vehicle, described as an SUV, smashed into the apartment building where the child’s bedroom was located. According to Chula Vista Police, the vehicle struck the bed, which the boy and another child had been in.
Responders arrived and transported the boy to a hospital. The injuries he suffered were described as minor. He was identified as 10 years old. No details are known from reports on whether the second child suffered any injury.
The person who had been driving the vehicle has not been identified, including name, age, gender, and city of residence. It is not known what led to the vehicle hitting the building.
The building was reported to have sustained damage that was described as moderate.
