Bryce Alan Bussell Killed Crossing I-5 in Chula Vista
Chula Vista, CA (September 5, 2018) – The man who was killed while trying to walk across the I-5 Freeway in South Bay on Thursday has been identified.
Authorities say the victim was Bryce Alan Bussell, a 22 year old. He had been walking in the lanes of traffic when a pickup truck hit him. The accident occurred on the northbound side of the freeway, a little before Palomar Street.
The time was roughly 4:00 a.m.
According to reports, the pickup—described as a Nissan—was going at freeway speed. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office said the driver suddenly saw a figure in front of their vehicle and were unable to stop in time.
The driver of the pickup stopped and pulled over to call 911.
Responders arrived on scene and found Bussell had died.
