Suspects Arrested in Bike Theft Incident in Chino, and Running Over Store Employee
CHINO, CA (March 20, 2019) – Three people suspected of running over an employee of a bike shop as she attempted to stop them from stealing a $10,000 bike were arrested on Monday. The three suspects—identified as a woman and two men, residents of Kern County—were arrested on March 18 for the incident that occurred on February 12.
According to the Chino Police Department, the suspects—identified as Kyle and Nichole Stewart, 27 years old and 23 years old, and residents of Taft; and Ronald Wolfe, 20 years old and a resident of Frazier Park—were arrested in the towns in which they live.
The Chino Police Department said the suspects are alleged to have been involved in the burglary which took place on February 12 at Incycle Bicycles in Chino. Reports say Kyle Stewart and Ronald Wolfe entered the store, grabbed an expensive bicycle worth $10,000, and exited the business. According to police, the two men entered a vehicle—described as a GMC Sierra—which was being driven by Nichole Stewart.
Police said that as the suspects were leaving, an employee of the bike shop tried to stop the three suspects, and she was run over. The victim suffered injuries that were described as critical, to her torso and her head. The injured woman was hospitalized.
Police also said that the Stewarts and Wolfe are suspected of having undertaken other similar thefts in Orange County and Los Angeles County. The three suspects were booked on suspicion of conspiracy, robbery, and attempted murder.
