Caution! More Child Pedestrians on the Crosswalks

Posted on September 28, 2015 | Written By: iadminlaw

More pedestrians will be on the sidewalks again because it’s fall. The children have returned to school. Most deaths of school age children occur after school hours.

Motorists must slow down and be especially aware as they watch out for children. Over 330 children died in auto accidents in Norther California in addition to 13,000 that were injured.

Studies show that slowing down saves lives. A pedestrian that is struck by a car going 25 mph is 2/3 less apt to die than a pedestrian struck by a car going 35 mph.

Distractions can also cause accidents. A person who does not watch the road carefully doubles his or her chances of having an accident according to the Automobile Association of America. Children should be aware and alert for cars when they are outdoors playing.

Teen drivers are included in those guilty of auto accidents involving school age children.

Cyclists also run the risk of having accidents with automobiles. They should be given plenty of space  and should always wear their helmets.Driver Gets Probation In Crash That Electrocuted 2
