Driver crashes her car into Fresno apartment complex destroying gas pipes and meters causing a serious gas leak.
It was around 6:20 in the morning when a female driver returning home from work accidently hit the accelerator pedal instead of the break crashing her car into a console of gas meters and pipes resulting in a severe gas leak and a mandatory evacuation of tenants for 48 hours.
A total of 16 apartment units were forced to evacuate in near freezing 35 degree weather.
For the time being, residents will not have hot water. It is estimated that full services restoration will happen in 2-3 days.
