Many people may assume that a car accident involves two parties. While most vehicle collisions are between two or more parties, once in a while a solo car crash does happen. In a recent event in the San Francisco bay area, an accident occurred involving just one driver.
On Monday morning, Oct. 15, one driver suffered from personal injury after driving off an embankment near North Flynn Road. The incident happened at around 10:50 a.m. on the eastbound Interstate 580. The accident ended up with California Highway Patrol blocking all four lanes of the highway as investigators looked over the scene. Moments after the accident, Livermore-Pleasanton firefighters arrived at the scene at around 11 a.m. to extinguish the flames caused by the vehicle when it went on fire.
A medical helicopter also arrived on the highway which was another reason why the CHP had to shut down all lanes. The lanes were reopened at 11:51 a.m. when the helicopter left the scene with the injured victim. The victim who was in the car only suffered from minor injuries. However, CHP are ruling that the solo crash may have been intentional.
It is still not certain whether or not the driver had crashed the car on purpose and his identity has not been released. He is not said to have any serious personal injuries from the crash. Policemen are still investigating the crash to see what may have caused it.
While driving on the freeway, a car crash may take all drivers by surprise. Whether you are the victim of the accident or just a witness, seeing an automobile collision may be shocking. The moments following an accident may seem hectic and chaotic. As policemen and fire fighters are dispatched to the scene, confusion may settle into many of the victims. It is important to remain calm at an accident and know which steps to take next.
