Man and Woman Identified as Victims Killed in Head-on Crash Near Buellton
BUELLTON, CA (September 24, 2019) – Marjorie Moore and James White were identified as the people killed early in the morning on Sunday in a head-on collision on Highway 246 near Buellton. The September 23 incident occurred near Domingos Road.
The time was roughly 3:30 a.m., the Santa Barbara County Fire Department said.
Reports say that according to the California Highway Patrol, White had been traveling at a fast speed. His vehicle went into the lane of opposing traffic and struck Moore’s vehicle.
According to officials with the fire department, one of the vehicles rolled over and stopped on the roadway. The other vehicle went off the road and traveled down the embankment. Reports do not describe each vehicle, nor identify which victim had been in each vehicle.
Each driver died at the accident site. No other person had been traveling in either vehicle.
Marjorie Moore was 73 years old and a resident of Lompoc.
James White was 39 years old and a resident of Solvang.
Investigators are continuing to collect information and evidence regarding the incident.
