San Francisco, CA – An eleven-year-old boy is amongst three who were injured when a vehicle driven by an allegedly intoxicated driver hit them and their parked vehicle Tuesday night.
Authorities responded to the crash at about 9:30 p.m. on the 100th block of Avenue M.
Leaving their vehicle to throw out trash, a man and two boys were hit after the vehicle in which they were driving in was struck by another vehicle. The impact forced the youngest boy back into the vehicle.
Paramedics rushed the victims to Francisco General Hospital. The oldest boy, eleven-years-old, and the man, 31-years-old, received serious injuries to the head. The boy suffered life-threatening injuries and the man suffered a serious cut to the back of the head. The youngest boy, a 9-year-old, was also taken to the hospital for minor non-life threatening chest injuries.
Investigators were able to determine that the vehicle northbound on Avenue M that struck the parked car on the side of the road was being driven by a 38-year-old.
That driver is being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
