Motorcycle and Van Collide in Bell, Killing Rider
BELL, CA (June 17, 2019) – A van and a motorcycle collided in the afternoon on Sunday in Bell, killing the rider. The June 16 crash occurred on the on ramp to the 710 Freeway soutbound from Florence Avenue.
The time was roughly 2:15 p.m., Officer M. Alvarez said. Alvarez is with the California Highway Patrol in the office for the area of East Los Angeles.
Reports say that a motorcycle had been entering the freeway when the crash occurred. According to Alvarez, investigators do not yet known what caused the motorcycle to collide with another vehicle, described as a Toyota Siena.
The impact of the collision threw the rider from the motorcycle. Respondents arrived and pronounced the rider deceased at the accident site. The victim was identified only as a man 27 years old and a resident of South Gate.
Two people who had been traveling in the Toyota—identified only as a woman and a man—suffered injuries that were not described as serious. The identities of the two people, including their names, ages, and cities of residence, have not been reported. It is not known who the driver of the Toyota was at the time of the crash.
