Teenaged Driver Crashes into Bakersfield Police Vehicle
BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 1, 2018) – A teenaged driver ran through a red light in the morning on Wednesday, and struck a Bakersfield Police vehicle, according to police.
The October 31 accident occurred where Q Street and 34th Street intersect. The time was roughly 10:30 a.m.
According to reports, the teenaged driver—identified as a girl, 17 years old—was traveling in a pickup truck. The driver did not stop at a red light. Witnesses said that the officer drove into the intersection when the traffic signal was green.
The girl, who may have suffered injuries, was released to her parent at the accident scene. Responders took the officer to a hospital in the area. His injuries were described as minor to moderate.
No other person was traveling in the two vehicles involved in the incident.
