Collision on Niles Street in Bakersfield Injures Two People
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 2, 2020) – On Thursday, a collision in Bakersfield seriously injured two people. The May 28 incident occurred where Niles Street and Owens Street intersect.
Reports say a vehicle–described as a Chevrolet pickup truck–had been heading southbound on Owens Street. According to Bakersfield Police, the driver of the Chevrolet did not stop at the stop sign. The pickup truck collided with a vehicle–described as a Nissan Sentra–which had been traveling on Niles Street and heading west.
Responders arrived and transported the driver of the Nissan and a passenger to a hospital in the area. The victims suffered injuries that were described as moderate to major.
The driver of the Nissan was identified only as a woman. Her name, age, and city of residence have not been reported. Her current condition was described as critical.
The passenger of the Nissan was identified only as a man. His name, age, and city of residence have also not been reported. His current condition was described as stable.
The driver of the pickup truck has not been identified, including his name, age, and city of residence. Reports say the driver was not hurt in the crash.
