Car Hits and Kills Man on Ming Avenue in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 13, 2019) – A man was hit and killed by a vehicle in Bakersfield Monday night. The June 10 incident occurred on Ming Avenue in the 5400 block.
The time was roughly 9:36 p.m., according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
Reports say the man had been running across the road, not within a crosswalk, when a car hit him. Responders arrived and took the victim to a hospital in the area. He had suffered injuries that were described as major, and later died. The man’s identity—including name, age, and city of residence—have not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle stayed at the accident site and cooperated with investigators. According to police, neither drugs, alcohol nor speeding seemed to be factors in the accident. The identity of the driver has not been reported.
