Three Killed in Anaheim Hit-and-run Crash; Suspect Driver Found at Hospital
ANAHEIM, CA (May 4, 2021) – Early in the morning on Tuesday in Anaheim, three people were killed in a hit-and-run crash. The driver who is suspected of hit-and-run in the May 4 incident was found by authorities in a hospital in the area.
The crash occurred close to where Orange Avenue and Brookhurst Street intersect. The time was roughly 2:50 a.m., according to Shane Carringer. Carringer is a sergeant with Anaheim Police.
Reports say two vehicles–described as a Kia and a Mercedes-Benz–collided. Responders pronounced three people who had been traveling in the Kia deceased at the crash site.
The victims were identified only as men. Their names, ages, and cities of residence have not been reported.
The Mercedes-Benz had no one inside when responders arrived, reports say. After sending an alert to hospitals in the area, authorities located two people they suspect had been involved in the crash.
The two people–identified as the suspected hit-and-run driver, and a passenger who had been traveling with her–suffered injuries that were described as serious.
Both people were identified only as female. Their names, ages, and cities of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are working to understand how the crash happened. They are continuing to collect information and details about the incident.
