Suspect Flees After Smashing into Anaheim Police Vehicle
ANAHEIM, CA (May 13, 2020) – On Tuesday night, a suspect who smashed into an Anaheim Police vehicle led officers on a chase. The May 12 incident went through parts of Orange County until the suspect was arrested.
Reports say the incident began at roughly 9:20 p.m. on East La Palma Avenue in the 5700 block. Authorities had received a report of a vehicle that was traveling in an erratic manner in a parking lot.
Officers from Anaheim Police arrived and attempted to stop the vehicle by blocking it, but the suspect driver smashed into the police vehicle. The suspect fled the incident site, and officers pursued the vehicle–described as a Chevrolet Avalanche.
The suspect driver entered I-5 and left the freeway a short time after on Glassell Street. The suspect pulled into a business’s driveway at roughly 10:20 p.m., where his vehicle was stopped.
Officers arrested the suspect. The person’s identity, including his name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.
Investigators are gathering information and details regarding the incident.
