Alhambra, CA – Two Separate Crashes Injure Three People on Valley Boulevard

ALHAMBRA, CA (August 7, 2018) – Two separate crashes on Valley Boulevard in Alhambra injured three people Thursday night. The August 2 accidents occurred at roughly 11:50 p.m. and 11:58 p.m. near Westminster Avenue.
Two people riding motorcycles crashed, Sergeant Carlos Donato with Alhambra police said. One of the riders suffered injuries that were serious, and the other person riding a motorcycle suffered injuries that were moderate, Battalion Chief Edward Guerrero of the Alhambra Fire Department said.
Responders took both of the victims to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center.
The second crash on Valley Bouelvard happened minutes later, at roughly 11:58 p.m. Two vehicles—a semi truck and a sedan—collided near Chapel Avenue. According to reports, Sergeant Donato said a car that was traveling on Valley was speeding, and collided with a truck that was backing up into a Taco Bell restaurant in order to deliver items.
The sedan ended up wedged beneath the semi trailer. The person who had been driving the sedan suffered a serious injury to the head. Responders took the victim to a hospital.
Investigators are continuing their examination of the details of both crashes.
