Two Los Angeles Police Department officers were injured following a three-car crash Friday evening. The crash happened in Westwood, according to authorities.
One civilian, who was in another vehicle was also injured, according to Stu Mundel reporting in Sky9.
The crash involved two civilian vehicles and a squad car. The accident happened around 6:45 p.m. on Wilshire Blvd. and Selby Ave.
The conditions of the injured officers wasn’t immediately known, but it was reported that both were complaining about experiencing pain. There was no word of the civilian’s condition.
According to Mundel, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the crash scene and had to cut the door off the police cruiser to extricate the officer in the passenger seat.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, though it appears as if the police cruiser was rear ended. The ensuing crash pushed the police cruiser to enter the intersection and strike another vehicle. It wasn’t clear which civilian driver was injured.
The intersection of Wilshire Blvd. and Selby Ave. was closed for some time while authorities cleared the wreck from the intersection and investigated the cause of the crash.
