CALIFORNIA CITY, CA (May 28, 2021) – On Tuesday night in California City–located in Kern County–a wrong-way driver suspected of DUI collided with a patrol vehicle. The May 25 incident, which occurred near Neuralia Road, caused injuries.
The time was roughly 8:59 p.m., according to the California City Police Department.
The police officer had been going to the Kern County Jail, located in Bakersfield, and transporting a suspect, reports say. While en route, the officer’s patrol vehicle was struck by a driver going the wrong way.
