San Diego Woman Seriously Injured After Being Struck in Colinas Del Rey Area
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 25, 2021) – On Saturday night in San Diego, a woman was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle. The May 22 crash occurred in the area of Colinas Del Rey, on El Cajon Boulevard.
The time was roughly a little before 9:00 p.m., according to Robert Heims. Heims is an officer with San Diego Police.
The pedestrian had been going across El Cajon Boulevard, reports say, walking in an unmarked crosswalk. A vehicle–described as a Toyota Corolla–which had been traveling east on El Cajon Boulevard, struck her.
Responders arrived and found the woman had suffered a fractured skull and other injuries described as life threatening. Responders transported the woman to the hospital.
She was identified only as 69 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.
The driver was identified only as 33 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are working to understand the crash. They are in the process of collecting information.
