WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA (July 13, 2022) – Early in the morning on Tuesday in West Hollywood, a pedestrian was struck and killed. The July 13 crash occurred where Hammond Street and Sunset Boulevard intersect.
The time was roughly 12:30 a.m., the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
Authorities allege the pedestrian had been walking when the light was red and a vehicle, described as an SUV, struck her.
After hitting the woman, the SUV struck a car that was parked.
Responders found the pedestrian died at the crash site. She was described as in her thirties.
Her name and city of residence have not been reported.
Reports say that according to a person who witnessed the crash, the woman had been with a group of friends who had shouted at her to stop walking because of traffic that was oncoming.
The driver remained at the crash site and cooperated with the investigation. The driver’s identity has not been reported.
Investigators are continuing to collect details about the crash.
