Hit-and-run Driver Crashes Inside Apartment Building in West Hollywood
WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA (July 30, 2020) – Early in the morning on Wednesday in West Hollywood, a hit-and-run driver smashed into an apartment building, with the vehicle ending up inside. The July 29 incident occurred on North Laurel Avenue in the 1100 block.
The time was roughly a little after 3:00 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The vehicle, which has not been described, crashed into the building partway after smashing a wall, according to investigators. Authorities suspect the person driving the vehicle had been going at a fast speed when the crash occurred.
Responders arrived and found one person who had been inside the apartment building was injured, with the injury described as superficial, according to Sergeant Mora. Mora is with the sheriff’s department.
The identity of the victim has not been reported.
The identity of the owner of the building has also not been reported. The extent of damage to the structure has not been described.
Investigators are searching for the suspect driver.
