Surveillance Video Captures Hit-and-run Incident at South Glendora Avenue Strip Mall in West Covina

WEST COVINA, CA (October 3, 2019) – Surveillance video captured a hit-and-run incident that happened last week in West Covina, and authorities are looking for the driver and the vehicle. The September 22 incident occurred in the parking lot of a strip mall located on South Glendora Avenue.

The time was roughly 1:00 p.m.

Reports say the owner of a liquor store, identified as Wael Aljouni, gave police video of the hit-and-run incident that had been recorded by a surveillance camera. In the video footage, a woman can be seen walking in the strip mall’s parking lot and a vehicle—described as a pickup truck—backs into her. The force of the strike sent her to the ground.

Reports say one of the pickup’s tires almost ran over her, but she rolled away from it. The person driving the pickup stopped a short while after hitting the woman. The driver opened the truck’s door, and then left. The driver did not help the woman.

The victim’s identity has not been reported, including her name, age, and city of residence. Reports say she was hurt, but it is not known what types of injuries she suffered.

The driver involved in the incident has not been described. Investigators are looking for the vehicle involved and the driver.
