Santa Maria Teen Boy on Bicycle Struck and Injured in Crash
SANTA MARIA, CA (July 8, 2022) – Early in the evening on Wednesday in Santa Maria, a teen boy riding a bicycle was struck and injured. The July 6 crash occurred where Miller Street and Battles Road intersect.
The time was roughly 6:40 p.m., authorities said.
No details have been reported on how the crash happened, nor the line of travel of the bicycle or the truck prior to the crash.
Responders transported the boy to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment.
The types of injuries he suffered, and his current condition, are not known.
He was identified only as 14 years old.
The driver remained at the crash site and cooperated with the investigation. The identity of the driver is not known from reports.
Investigators are working to understand why the crash happened, and they are gathering information and details.
