Hemet Woman, 21, Killed in Head-On Collision on Mountain Ave.
HEMET, CA (September 8, 2024) – A head-on collision on Mountain Avenue near Soboba Street resulted in the death of 21-year-old Stephanie Morales on Sunday night, according to the Hemet Police Department.
The fatal crash occurred around 9:00 p.m. when Stephanie Morales, driving a westbound Kia Forte, veered into the eastbound lanes for unknown reasons. A man driving an eastbound Hyundai Ioniq saw the Kia but was unable to avoid a collision. The two vehicles collided head-on.
Stephanie Morales Was Transported To Hemet Global Medical Center
Emergency personnel from the Hemet Fire Department arrived within minutes and transported Stephanie Morales, who was gravely injured, to Hemet Global Medical Center, where she later died. The driver of the Hyundai and his passenger were taken to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley for treatment, and they are expected to survive their injuries.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but authorities have confirmed that Stephanie Morales was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
