Crash Kills Two Pedestrians near Flower Street In South Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, CA (August 3, 2022) – Two pedestrians were struck and killed by a driver who is alleged to have fled a scene of domestic violence prior to the crash. The August 2 crash occurred in the vicinity of Flower Street and 52nd Street in South Los Angeles.
The time was roughly after 11:30 a.m., Los Angeles Police said.
Reports say officers were called to a location on Figueroa Street in the 4300 for an incident of domestic violence. However, when police came to the site, according to reports, they could not find evidence of the reported event and they left the scene.
Authorities received a second call roughly an hour later that again reported domestic violence at the same place. Officers came on site, but the suspect had fled the location.
The car of the domestic violence suspect was found by police some time later in the vicinity of Flower Street and 52nd Street.
Authorities allege the domestic violence suspect had been driving at a fast speed and struck two pedestrians. No details have been reported on where the two victims were walking or standing when they were struck.
Responders pronounced the two people deceased at the crash site.
Their identities, including names, ages, genders, and cities of residence, have not been reported.
Authorities arrested the suspect. His identity is not known from reports.
