Semi-Truck Crash near Camp Pendleton Tragically Kills Driver
Camp Pedelton (April 11, 2023) – A man lost his life in a semi-truck accident on the 5 Freeway in the Camp Pendleton area on April 11. The fatal crash occurred just south of the Aliso Creek Rest Area at approximately 11:57 p.m. that night.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a white Infiniti QX4 collided with the back of a semi-truck that had come to a stop on the freeway. The driver of the Infiniti, identified as a 54-year-old resident of Westminster, was killed instantly.

At this time, it is unknown whether anyone else was injured in the accident. Both the Camp Pendleton Fire Department and the Camp Pendleton Provost Marshall’s Office responded to the scene.
The CHP is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, but they do not suspect that alcohol or drugs played a role.
Accidents involving semi-trucks and other large commercial vehicles can be especially dangerous due to their size and weight.
