Four-vehicle Crash on Highway 101 Causes Damage in Santa Maria, CA
SANTA MARIA, CA (October 19, 2022) – On Tuesday morning in Santa Maria, four vehicles crashed on Highway 101, causing damage and blocking the roadway. It is not yet known from reports if anyone was hurt in the October 18 crash, which occurred on the southbound side of the freeway.
The time was roughly 8:30 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
Reports say four vehicles collided in an area near Main Street, and to the north of it. However, the manner in which the crash happened has not been reported, nor has the sequence in which each vehicle crashed.
None of the vehicles have been described.
Responders found one of the vehicles had landed upside down.
No one involved in the crash has been identified, and the exact number of people involved is also not known from reports.
The types of injuries that may have occurred has not been reported.
At the present time, investigators are working to understand how and why the crash happened, and they are collecting information for that effort.
