Hit-and-run Driver who Critically Injured Man in San Marcos is Sought
SAN MARCOS, CA (April 16, 2021) – The hit-and-run driver who struck and critically injured Steven Drake in San Marcos earlier this month is being sought by police. The April 1 incident occurred on Woodland Parkway close to Fulton Drive.
The time was roughly a little before 8:00 p.m., according to Charles Morreale. Morreale is a sergeant.
The person who had been driving the vehicle–which may have been an Audi A4, silver in color–fled the crash site after hitting a pedestrian, who was later identified as Drake. Responders arrived and transported Drake to the hospital.
His condition was critical, with trauma to his brain. Drake was placed on life support; he has recently been taken off life support, reports say, and is now in a long recovery phase. Drake is 71 years old.
Investigators say the car that struck Draper is missing a fog-light bezel and headlight washer cover on the passenger side, due to the crash.
If anyone has information about the incident, the person can contact San Diego County Crime Stoppers. That number is 888-580-8477.
