Car Smashes into House on Garcia Drive in San Luis Obispo, Injuring Four

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (September 10, 2020) – Late at night on Wednesday in San Luis Obispo, a car smashed into a house and injured four people. The September 9 incident occurred on Garcia Drive.

The time was roughly 10:38 p.m., according to San Luis Obispo Police.

A vehicle–described as an SUV–was reported to have smashed into the house, and ended up partly inside.

Police officers and responders from San Luis Obispo City Fire arrived on scene and found four people had been hurt in the crash, according to Sammy Fox. Fox is a battalion chief with the fire department.

According to reports, three of the victims suffered injuries that were described as minor. Responders transported one person to a hospital. The person suffered injuries that were described as moderate.

The person who suffered injures that were moderate, and two people who suffered injuries that were minor were residents at the house. The victims have not been identified.

The person who had been driving the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI, Jason Dickel said. Dickel is a sergeant with the San Luis Obispo Police. The driver was identified only as a juvenile. The name, age, gender, and city of residence of the suspect driver has not been reported.

Personnel from the San Luis Obispo City Building Department are working to investigate the damage to the house, which was structurally compromised.

Work is continuing to investigate the crash.
