Pedestrian Struck and Seriously Injured on Illinois Street in San Diego, CA
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 21, 2022) – On Wednesday night in San Diego, a woman who was walking her dog was struck and seriously injured in the North Park area. The July 20 crash occurred on Illinois Street in the 4400 block.
The time was roughly 9:00 p.m., Robert Heims said. Heims is an officer with San Diego Police.
According to reports, the woman had been walking her dog when the dog pulled her into the street.
A vehicle–described as a BMW Z4–which had been heading south on Illinois Street, struck her.
Responders transported the patient to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries that include broken bones, cuts, and abrasions, and a brain bleed.
Her current condition is not known.
She was identified only as 25 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.
The driver was identified only as 61 years old. The driver’s name, gender, and city of residence are not known from reports.
Investigators are continuing to gather information about the crash.
