Pedestrian Crossing Imperial Ave. in San Diego Struck by Vehicle
SAN DIEGO, CA (September 2, 2020) – On Tuesday in San Diego, a pedestrian who was crossing against a light was struck and injured. The September 1 incident occurred in the area of Mountain View, on Imperial Avenue in the 4400 block, close to 45th Street.
A man was walking on the sidewalk, reports say, and he walked into the intersection of Imperial Avenue and 45th Street on a light that was red for him. A vehicle–described as a Nissan Rogue–which was making a turn to the left to 45th Street, struck him, according to John Buttle. Buttle is an officer with San Diego Police.
Responders arrived and transported the man to a hospital. He is reported to have suffered an injury described as a broken knee.
His current condition is not known. He was identified only as 62 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
The Nissan’s driver was reported uninjured in the incident. Her name, age, and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are working on collecting information and details regarding the crash.
