Collision in Midway Neighborhood of San Diego Injures Scooter Rider
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 4, 2019) – A collision on Saturday night between a vehicle and a scooter injured the scooter rider in San Diego’s Midway neighborhood. The March 2 accident occurred on Rosecrans Street in the 3800 block.
The time was roughly 10:25 p.m.
Reports say that the person riding the scooter—identified as a man 46 years old—had been traveling on a Lance Scooter and heading south on Rosecrans. A vehicle—described as a Ford pickup truck—had been traveling north on Rosecrans, according to Robert Heims. Heims is an officer with the San Diego Police Department.
According to Heims, the man who had been on the scooter entered the lane to turn left to head west on Hancock Street. The pickup truck—driven by a man identified as 51 years old—made a left turn and broadsided the scooter.
Respondents took the man who had been riding the scooter to a local hospital. Reports say his leg was fractured, and Heims said the injury was not life threatening. His current condition is not known. The man’s name and city of residence have not been reported.
