Cars Parked in San Diego’s Mountain View Area Struck by Suspected DUI Driver
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 26, 2021) – Early in the morning on Sunday in San Diego, multiple cars that were parked on a street in the neighborhood of Mountain View were struck by a suspected DUI driver. The April 25 incident occurred close to where Logan Avenue and South 45th Street intersect.
The time was roughly 2:45 a.m., according to Dino Delimitros. Delimitros is an officer with San Diego Police.
When officers responded to reports of crashes in the area, they found multiple cars that had been parked on the street were struck, reports say. Roughly ten people who reside in the area had assisted in preventing the driver from leaving the area before officers could arrive, according to reports.
The driver–who had been traveling in a Jeep–was arrested on suspicion of DUI. He was identified only as in his twenties. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
Reports say that from five to as many as ten vehicles that had been parked in the area of the crash had been damaged. The vehicles have not been described, nor their owners identified in reports.
Investigators are working to collect information about the incident.
